Unsnag ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website audit platform at unsnag.io.

By using Unsnag, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information you provide directly

• Account information: email address and password when you sign up.
• URLs submitted for audit: the website addresses you ask us to scan.
• Payment information: billing details processed securely by Stripe. We never store raw card numbers.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, audit reports generated, features used, and timestamps — collected via Vercel Analytics.
• Log data: IP address, browser type, referring URL, and error reports for debugging purposes.
• Cookies: session cookies for authentication and analytics cookies (see Section 5).

• To provide, operate, and improve the Unsnag service.
• To run website audits and return results to you.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To send transactional emails (audit complete, billing receipts, plan change confirmations) via Resend.
• To send weekly monitoring alerts and change notifications if you have a paid plan.
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We share data with third parties only as necessary to provide the service:

• Stripe — payment processing. Your payment details are sent directly to Stripe and governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Resend — transactional email delivery. Your email address is shared to send you service notifications.
• Google PageSpeed Insights API — URLs you submit for audit are sent to Google to retrieve performance data. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic Claude API — paid-plan users receive AI-powered SEO analysis. Audit data (page content and metadata) is sent to Anthropic to generate recommendations. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — hosting and analytics. Anonymised usage data is processed by Vercel's infrastructure.

We use the following types of cookies:

• Essential cookies: required for authentication (keeping you signed in) and basic functionality. Cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies: Vercel Analytics uses anonymised, privacy-friendly tracking — no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting.

You can control non-essential cookies via our cookie consent banner. See your browser settings to manage cookies at any time.

• Audit reports are retained while your account is active and for 30 days after account deletion.
• Account data is deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
• Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations.
• Log data is retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure: request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection: opt out of certain data processing activities.

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Unsnag is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at privacy@unsnag.io.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
